Lol that apartment was probably in the middle of Manhattan. Regular ppl are not paying that. An average 1 bed in NY is around 2k a month

What is the appeal of Chicago? Do you have to explain that by comparison NYC has endless food options, dozens of interesting and diverse neighborhoods, tons of museums, theater, live music, etc. on a scale far greater than Chicago. The most interesting people in the world live and vacation here. Tons of free things to do. Some parts are dirtier but the whole city is not that way all

chicago is an acquired taste ngl i tried living there after being in ny and it actually did not compare 4 my personal taste. it's pretty but it feels segregated still, there's less to do, less distinct neighborhoods, slower transit and suburbs/interesring neighborhoods r all far so u need a car, barely any good authentic food, less ppl out at night, no other cities around, it's the best in the midwest but it's in the midwest.. like idk there r perks to chicago and things i liked but the rent in ny feels worth it to me
