I’m a daughter of a deported migrant. I’m 34. I am still living the trauma like it happened last year. I was 16, she kissed us, never came back, foster home, aged out, she’s still over there, it’s extremely damaging it’s long term and it only worsens with time. There was 4 of us, we lost contact but found eachother and now are individually dealing with the long term trauma. We can never go back home to mom unless we go to Mexico, we have no parental support system here in the United States. I have undergone years and years of therapy. I feel so terrible for this new wave of children that’ll grow up remembering this. Cuz I’ll tell all of yaull now, it has damaging long term effects on an individual. I’m an orphane in the eyes of the us but my mother is alive in Mexico. It’s conflicting.
