@little_jessx: We’ve had a very sick & poorly day with Nan today. 🥺💔 These days can be really difficult as Nan cannot fully communicate how she is feeling, and will forget the feeling after a short time. 🥺 •••••• #dementia #dementiaawareness #dementiacarer #caregiver #caregiveruk #dementiacaregiver #alzheimers #alzheimersawareness #alzheimersdisease #vasculardementia #alzheimerscaregiver #carehomeuk #familycaregiver #littlejess #littlejessandnan
She calls you mummy because she feels the exact comfort only a mother can provide🥹

You do so well with her. You don’t treat her like a child but yet you have the ability to make her feel comforted like only a child with their mother can feel

Jess, could she possibly have a UTI? They come on suddenly without the usual symptoms when people are older… they are cold, confused, shaking… happens to men and women! If you dont catch it early, it turns to sepsis.

definitely have them check for UTI, my mom had Alzheimer's and had one and we didn't know until she turned septic, please have them check her, she'll just need antibiotics

The way she calls you mummy, heartbreaking and so so sweet all at the same time. My nan is in advanced stages of dementia and it’s so painful to see, you are an angel for looking after your nan the way you do x

This might be a silly question but how do people with dementia know what colour is what? Like she knows that is pink. Does it just depend on the day? I don’t have much knowledge of dementia

She’s so kind and thankful. My mom with dementia is not kind and thankful as her default. 😞 Everything’s my fault & she’s just mean to me no matter how kind I am. It’s very difficult. I wish she was this kind. That’s a blessing!

My mum died two years ago, she had dementia also, she got a UTI which turned into sepsis and she passed within a week, I would ask docs to check her for a uti x
