The scene with him watching the magician preform- where he reflects lm how he started studying other people when everyone said his performance was “off” at 13 ,,,,

I think the ending is supposed to be both things, both autistic people are normal and addressing the masking pilots need to do to keep their jobs

I started season 2 last night, but not without accidentally watching the first minute of season 1 first accidentally. Nathan says “I’ve been told my personality can make people uncomfortable, so I have to work to offset that.” I don’t think that could describe the autistic experience more explained more simply.

Ok same I’m autistic and was born into a pilot family and I can’t stop thinking about it and talking about it - esp after having been a Nathan fan for so many years it’s hitting a little ~too~ close

completely unrelated and this is a compliment, the new show on Disney called Win or Lose has a character named Laurie who kinda looks like you.

@joan do you think he’s acting or in-character when exihbiting what we recognize as autistic traits? I keep struggling with that. Because in some podcasts, folks say he’s out of character (rare!) and exhibits less ‘autistic’ traits imo. He might have masked more though earlier in his career when off camera. He’s blurring the line now and it’s harder to tell when he’s portraying a character vs. Being himself

I like that Nathan leaves things open ended. it's what sparks me to spend hours thinking about possible meanings because that's fun for me. On the other hand I get so annoyed when friends tell me that his entire personality is a bit. Here is a reddit thread of Nathan and others talking about his personality: https://www.reddit.com/r/TheRehearsal/s/9i7ponPAEJ IDK how people can say its all a bit. We will just never know what is a bit, what is Nathan, and what is impossible to tear apart unless he tells us. If he told us, it would be interesting but take away a big part of the fun of discussing his art.

I just wish they hadn’t platformed an organization that practices ABA and a woman who thinks autism is caused by vaccines and can be cured

he deleted the results because they're fake and he still hasn't gotten genuinely tested. I love/hate the bit

Autism is considered a disability, so it feels like people are telling you your disabled
