Most knives are made symmetrical so there isn’t a right or left. Just the fact that you changed your grip on the knife shows that you don’t know how to use it.

Knives are usually sharpened with an angled bevel, that is not perfectly even. Idk for this knife but left and right handed knife’s are a thing due to how they are sharpened

I’m convinced peoples brains aren’t meant to be left handed, the side of your brain needed for coordination controls your right hand so lefties are more commonly awkward. (Speaking as someone who watches their uncoordinated, awkward husband do literally anything and wonders why they look… odd)

That’s just a wrong tool issue. A steak knife isn’t made to cut apples. Use a normal chef knife. Half, quarter, then at a 45 degree angle cut out the core. Lay quarter on new flat side and cut either in half of thirds. Then you have either 8 or 12 slices of apple.
