the missile was operating on its own radar, not yours at this range, and therefore severed the data link. it's radar, like a heat seaker is primitive, and locks the largest signal it sees. usually, by 25km range, that's the intended target. unfortunately, here, the plane you locked, turned away from you, when it's friendly which is almost the same range away, was flying parallel to you, making it the much larger radar signature, so it draws the missiles attention. this is how chaff works. essentially the second plane acted as chaff for the first plane.
