Given toby has such high respect for the original soundtrack that he considers his own version equivalent to fan work and not official, and the fact he couldn’t make it too much like the original because the whole reason he was making the new soundtrack was because of rights issues… yeah, I think him having some fun with it is better than severly limiting himself to not make it the best he can

instead of thinking of it as papyrus’ theme, think of the bonetrousle motif as representing grandeur and a pompous attitude. fits dedan perfectly

Okay honestly as someone who played the original years ago I thought it was disrespectful at first but then I realized the og fake orchestra didn’t really have much of a main melody to pull from and the bonetrousle motif plays like twice and then is followed by original stuff by toby and it’s growing on me a lot

the way people are mad and I got to talk to developers at a con and they left an ENTIRE LINE OF CODE in for a second soundtrack to be put in so moddeds could add the originals back in. they told me "i mean we mightve accidentally left a code in that just kind of allows you to copy paste different music in...i mean whattt??? who said that" they were awesome
