Literally why I have no friends in GC, when I moved here it was all friends from past partying and then moved into new party friends. I wanted to move away from that life and brought a unit, but it’s also harder to meet people without that crutch.

Made my sober decision about a year ago. No fall from grace story or anything. I just said to myself “I’m done.” I was a casual drinker, but even those drinks and shots was only exacerbating my flaws and my depression. Three days later, I also said “I’m done” to the lady I was dating. She liked to drink regularly and also only saw me for one facet of me: The musician she was infatuated by. I ended that the following Saturday, not even a week after deciding to be sober. After that, I scheduled my first appointment with my therapist. I’ve done so much for myself and have grown by leaps and bounds. All because I chose sobriety. It allowed me to start speaking my truth.
