My fasting insulin was 32 and I was pre diabetic. For 6 months I took berberine, caylon cinnamon, walked after meals, low carb/complex carbs only, lots of protein, healthy fats, fiber, some strength training, no full sugar sodas or fruit juices. I have a little bit of a seeet tooth so I started finding tons of healthy sweet alternatives and berries, yogurt and sweeten stuff with monk fruit.

I was always tired, moody, and couldn’t lose a pound no matter what I tried. I didn’t even know insulin resistance was the issue until someone recommended the Eat Like a Woman Protocol. It helped me drop 21lbs and balance everything—my hunger, my cycle, my mood💫

Once I started prioritizing protein and veggies, I lost weight. I still eat simple carbs, but first I fill my plate with the protein + veggies, then use a simple carbs as a “topper”. Also cutting sugar/using sugar alternatives like monk fruit

This is not reversing insulin resistance. This is decreasing glucose spikes which is inportant too, but it’s not reversing anything. If you had a candy bar, your glucose would still spike way more than someone else’s which is… insulin resistance.

And don’t forget about the importance of sleep. Everyone should be sleeping 7-8 hours for their health, especially women!

I lost 65 lbs recently and my A1C went from 5.8 to 5.3. I am no longer pre-diabetic! All by eliminating sugar and going low carb. It’s so worth it!

Glucose also gets stored in your muscle tissue. Strength training helps, but having more muscle doesn’t mean it won’t store the same

💯. People yap all day about protein, but it’s so incredibly rare that people mention fiber. It’s SO crucial.
