Anybody who saw you, would tell us that your eyes were your most beautiful feature. Everyone who knew you, would tell us that your most beautiful feature was your soul. In no time at all, you became part of our every day—the sun in the morning and the warm comfort at night. You had your favorite spots, your silent routines, your little ways of making sure I knew I was loved. You had nothing except love to give. It is such a blessing to say that we got to watch each other grow. You watched me grow up, I watched you grow old. You saw me graduate, go through a couple rough break ups, get married, travel across the USA multiple times, and even see us bring a small baby into the world. Everything that had changed in our lives, you were one of the consistencies. I will miss hearing the lawn mower echo of your purr in quiet moments. I will miss your cuddles. Your bellowing meows. Your forehead kisses that you gave me almost every single say. I will miss you more than any word could ever describe. You were more than a pet. You were a companion, a confidant, a gentle presence through joy and sorrow. My family. When the world felt too loud, your quiet company was all I needed. You never judged, never asked for more than what you gave back tenfold: love, patience, peace. As you grew older, you moved more slowly, slept more often. Your eyes stayed that stunning blue, so full of love. Your presence just as comforting. Even in these final days, you taught me about grace, about letting go, staying strong, about cherishing the time we have. I get to miss you longer than I have known you. I will miss the brush of your tail, the way you curled on my lap, the way you looked at me when you wanted my food or just my attention.
