an anime is airing rn called "kowloon generic romance" and its complex plot revolves around the theme of nostalgia, even the artstyle and opening and ending songs were chosen to evoke a sense of nostalgia in the watchers....its really great soo far hope yall check it out

so good 🙏🏼 I see this phenomenon reflected in music instruments or creative tools - which can be really fun if someone leans into reimagining and adds fantasy, but can dull if it's just thing to reproduce something. but because part of what made it amazing at the time might have been it's newness, so re-using it becomes the opposite, a retro sound/look/material etc.
