My top suggestions for APPS you must have are: 1. Google Maps: If you’re going to use one app in Japan, it should be Google Maps. Not only is it great for helping to plan your trip, it can also give you detailed help on using the train, bus or subway. 2. Google Translate: Travelling while not knowing the language can seem daunting. Google translate also has a camera feature, allowing you to scan signs or menus and get real-time translation. 3. SUICA: This card is essential to use public transport in Japan. This card can also be used for vending machines, and shopping.
