It is completely valid for Neytiri not to like Spider. People forget because of his father, she lost her own father, her home twice, and was forced into war as a child. She watched her world burn twice. She had to give up peace, identity, everything. Jake may have been human, yes, but he proved his loyalty, fought for her people, gave up being human, and became Na’vi. Spider has done none of that. And worst of all, he saved the man who murdered Neteyam—Neytiri’s son, his supposed brother. That kind of betrayal cuts deep. So no, Neytiri doesn’t owe Spider anything. I’m so tired of people switching up on complex characters. She is not evil whatsoever and she is one of the best written characters in the movies. If you do not like her you have not understood the meaning of the movie and you cannot take complex characters.

i feel like avatar 1 neytiri would’ve loved spider but after all of the wars and her loss she changed a whole lot because of all of the wars and now she see’s humans as the enemy even though they are besides norm and max 😭

I'll never except hate in the Spider's direction. he is literally a CHILD, he did what he did, the way a child would do, he showed mercy, even to his enemy, he showed the highest degree of humanity. he was tortured, and psychologically he has long been traumatized, he was not excepted by the mother of his only and best friends, although she clearly forgot who her husband really is. I don't hate Neytiri, I can understand her, but I can't justify her. what I can't understand and justify is the amoral fans who literally hate a child who is the same as that Neteyam, Lo'ak, Kiri and Tuk, although he is just a different kind.

I feel like Neytiris hatred for Spider made sense. We all know the hatred she has for the actual sky ppl, spider is js that central connection to them and reminder that he’s also Quartichs son. Quaritch led her ppl and her father to death when destroying their home. She lost a lot bc of the humans. She probs takes her anger out on spider cus he’s the closest thing to quaritch by blood and is the only remaining piece of him walking in her world. She doesn’t like spider cus of what he’s connect to. Ifykwim

Yes I understand why neytiri was scared. Yes I understand how her fear could’ve clouded her judgement. But at the end of the day, spider is a child. A child who had no one. Who had to bare the sins of his parents. Her AND Jake made the deliberate and repeated choice of not giving this boy the protection and love he was OWED. It didn’t even have to be them but as the chief and wife AND daughter of one, it was their DUTY to find someone to properly care for spider and they’ve failed. and for that, I will never like her or Jake ever again.
