@tearsof.thesoul: When someone knows they deserve better, but still stays with the one who breaks them, that’s called cognitive dissonance. It’s the pain of knowing the truth and still choosing the lie. One part of them whispers, “I’m not happy.” The other clings to, “But I love them.” And in that tension, something heavy grows. They start to question themselves more than the relationship. They convince themselves that love is supposed to hurt, that maybe they’re asking for too much, that staying is the brave thing to do. But love that breaks you isn’t love. It’s fear—of being alone, of starting over, of facing the grief that comes with letting go.
