I love that the registry of tartans also includes designs for ethnic communities (Sikh, Jewish, etc.) that live in Scotland but aren’t members of official clans.

I play Disney Dreamlight Valley and Scrooge and Merida have a storyline that follows them celebrating their family crest and tartan. I didn't know Disney had them officially registered though, thats pretty cool.

Tartans I, as a Canadian with no formal scotch ties, am authorized to wear 1. Maple Leaf, open to all Canadians 2. Black Watch, open to all, my army regiment issues it for the pipes and drums 3. Ontario Provincial Tartan, my province's official tartan if I'm wrong or have more tartans let me know

Scrooge Mcduck first appeared in 1947 in the Karl Barks story "Christmas on Bear Mountain". There was a prototypical Scrooge in a Donald Duck Short during the war, so this was probably registered for that character and repurposed.

That… …is shockingly culturally sensitive. I mean granted, Scrooge McDuck is Scottish for the same reason Scotch Tape is called that; it’s a slur like jew, gyp, or welch. But still, registering a tartan is a whole deal.
