My mother ran out of gas in the middle of the night in Bastrop Texas. A Klansman came to her car and told her that he would advise her to leave there asap. She called me to come help her asap. I got there as quick as I could and gave her gas and followed her home. Bastrop was about an hour from where we lived. She leftbhome to find my baby brother. We never found my brother. He showed up the next day.. He was alright

Sundown towns existed across the United States. The Seattle area had plenty of them, and some of the older homes have covenants in their old deed records prohibiting sale to Black, brown and Asian people. Some even included Jews

like brother Malcolm X once said when you cross the Canadian border you are in the South so stop that Mississippi sundown town I live in New York and if you are in long Island New York and get Caught in the wrong part you gonna get stopped and chased out or if you ain't right you gonna get locked up or worse that hatred is all over this America WORD!
