I decided to share my thoughts and summarize the main points of the anime Lost in Starlight after watching it.
Honestly, when I first started watching this anime, I thought it wouldn’t be very interesting. Mainly because of the art style — it seemed a bit strange, like it didn’t quite reach the usual level. But by the middle, I realized there is a certain style to it. The characters look like real people, not just cartoonish images. And that gives it a special charm.
The story overall is a bit sad. The main heroine lost her mother since childhood — her mother never returned from a mission to Mars. Because of this, she had nightmares and became withdrawn. But over time, it becomes clear she has a strong character. She decides to do what her mother couldn’t — and still goes all the way. That earns respect.
Her father also touched me deeply. He still lives with hope that his wife will someday return. And although everyone else has long accepted it, he hasn’t. I truly felt sorry for him. You can see how hard it is for him, but he doesn’t let go. Such a portrayal is rare.
I especially liked how the hero’s boyfriend — Jay — was shown. He didn’t abandon her even when she pushed him away. He supported her during tough times, didn’t impose himself, he was just there. I think if not for his message sent to the Moon, she might have just given up. But he gave her hope. That was very beautiful.
