My husband has a ride on mower and I let the kids ride with him. I will not be letting them do that any longer. I have never thought about that.

My husband was out of town and the grass was too tall for the baby to play in. I’m too cheap to pay someone else and I did what any sane person would do, mowed my yard at midnight so she wouldn’t get hurt lol

I grew up in a very rural area in the Midwest and went to school with 3 kids from separate families who all had limb deformities from lawn mower accidents. It is crazy how common it still is!

Lawn mowers + my toddlers = TERRIFIES ME! The only way my son is allowed outside with dad is if he’s sitting secured in his hiking backpack on my husbands shoulders. We have a push mower, would NEVER let him sit in ANYONES lap on a ride on mower.

my kid was taught from an early age if there is any type of mechanical equipment running and she needs us to stand way far away, wait till we're facing her and then wave her arms to get our attention. she knows to wait till the equipment is off to come close or wait for our signal to approach/us approach her. kid injuries and death is a big reason why we taught her this 😬

My husband’s family allows their kids to drive AND all the cousins to be towed in a cart behind the lawn mower… I said my daughters are not allowed to EVERRRRR do that while at their house.

My dad lost his eye because he was playing outside as a toddler while his older brother was mowing the lawn and hit a rock that took his eye out. Growing up, his biggest rule was that no one was allowed outside to play while the lawn got mowed because he didn't want anyone else to end up like him. That's still a big rule in our house today with my kids.

It’s so hard to tell others no until the unimaginable happens to your whole world. I almost lost my 2.5 y/o to drowning at a hotel pool after I told my family we weren’t going to be swimming. I set her down, told her to wait so I could put my phone down and my shoes off and she jumped in a 5 foot pool my grandma called “tiny”. I cussed everybody out. She was so sick this past week from liquid in her lungs and in a split second my world almost came crashing down because I folded, everybody told me I was being overbearing

Grew up with a doctor mom who enforced this seriously! Lawnmower safety is so important for everybody. Projectiles and slipping blades scare me so bad.

Yes 🙌🏻 This happened to my older brother. Thankfully he survived, and he now has a prosthetic leg. I’m grateful he’s still with us. Lawn mower safety is so important, awareness can truly save lives.

I drive past this houses that has a kids seat strapped to the side of their riding mower and they let the toddler sit in it. Their house is nothing but hills too.
