these comments make zero sense 😭 it’s completely normal to move to a country without being fluent in the language … more often than not once given the opportunity you don’t have time to just learn the language and it’s much easier to learn by immersing yourself in it! learning the basics is a must for sure but in japan for example few people speak english so you end up learning and adapting anyway

Hey, I think the hate toward you about needing to learn the language is not justified. I guarantee you everyone who is roasting you does not speak another language, because if they did, they would understand that it simply more difficult to watch content in a second language. Just because you technically can, doesn’t mean you want to. Sometimes you don’t want to have to think about what you’re listening to, to be able to understand it.

I don’t know if someone already said it in the comments but you can use the chrome extension called “language reactor” ! Even if Netflix doesn’t have the subtitles you can add the English ones by choosing “Auto subtitles” in the settings. It’s not perfect grammar wise but you can at least understand mostly of it

i like how some kids think you just get the idea to learn a language and BOOM you now know it, japanese korean chinese and arabic are classified as hardest languages to learn for a native English speaker, it'll take years and years
