My dad was a truck driver for 35yrs. Had an accident in the 90s, broke his back, split his head like a melon. At the end of his career he was in too much pain to shift. He started driving a Volvo with an auto. That was his favorite truck. He would go on and on about how amazing the truck and the auto trans was.

I’m old school as it gets but automatic is the trick. My left knee is almost completely recovered. Yeah there’s things I hate about it but overall I’d never go back

First of all it is an automated not automatic, still has a clutch that is controlled by air pressure, I have driven both, and I can put my transmission in manual and choose the gear If I want, autos all day long.

driving 47yrs, have driven all kinds of manuals, was forced in auto pulling doubles in Mi in winter, hated the thought of it, turns out thier not that bad.a real driver can drive either one whatever the job requires
