Listen to what Gil said, the players vote Kobe as top 1, 2 or 3. The media like ESPN etc. have him at outside the top 3. Everything is opinion based but I always lean toward what all the players say and not what media says.

Only MJ, Bron, and Kareem should potentially be on lists over Kobe. I’d still pick Kobe over Bron and Kareem to start my team with. Tim Duncan couldn’t go through Kobe and didn’t get to 5 until his injuries. Magic and Steph are great in their own respects but I’m still taking Kobe’s defense over those 2s shooting and passing prowess. Bill and Wilt are legends but that doesn’t mean they’d translate to other eras like those top guys.
