Musk said the bill, which passed the House last month and includes more than $5 trillion in tax cuts, will “burden America[n] citizens with crushingly unsustainable debt.” Independent economists have estimated the bill could grow the federal debt by $5 trillion over the next decade. The White House and the bill’s supporters in Congress argue the bill will spur growth and revenue, despite cutting taxes.
