It’s overgrown hyponychium from having long nails for a long time, if u keep them short it’ll gradually go back to normal

That’s because you had long nails before. So that skin grows. U need a few days it dries out and falls.

I think people misunderstand the video. This is your hyponychium. It’s NOT dead skin. If you file your nails down to your hyponychium it literally gets mad at you and grows back stronger and thicker. You say it hurts like hell. Yeah it’s vascularized. It contains blood vessels and nerves. Just don’t do that is all I say as a person with the same issue

Try Gel x ! My client had this problem and once we started doing Gel x her skin stopped growing out like that

Nail tech here! That’s your hyponychium which is an extension of your nail bed. It’s not uncommon, however, be very careful when cutting your nails. Do not cut them shorter than your nail bed. Communication is 50/50, advocate for yourself because not all techs are gonna “care” which is very sad. This is why you need to find someone who understands your nails! hope this helps 💅🏻🩷

This happens when u overly do ur nails but if u use cuticle oil on them they will shrink and go away

im Not a Nail Tech or anything but isnt that normal when your nails grow your skin under them also grows for Support? doesnt it 'dissapear' when you have Short nails since the Nail beds dont need the extra Support

Don‘t worry I switch from long to short nails pretty often and this always happens to me. It should go down by itself but I like to push it a little down 🤷🏻♀️my skin and my nails look normal and healthy and no it didn’t came out bigger ur comment section is wild 😭
