I did that in my last marriage, it didn't work for me at all. she abused me financially, even though I earn twice what she did, and when she cheated & left, turned out she had a secret account she was siphoning money into. so no, going forward, joint account for house expenses only, separate accounts for individual spending. lesson learned.

nope. his money is their money and her money is her money. 3 accounts. a shared and your own two separate. he cant control hers, she can't control his, it takes two signatures to move any money from the shared account and that is all Bill's, kids, animals, holidays investments ect but the man always puts more in because he is a provider.
