A lot of people in my area will drain the oil and fill it with grease and put a grease fitting in it usually after the oil seal goes out.

Put corn head grease I. The gear box it doesn’t get hot like oil and it last a lot longer and far as lubricity

When the seal goes out we always just put a grease fitting and it’s worked like that for years. Just pump more in it before a big job and get at it

The blades should be loose I think. In case you hit something they can move. The inertia from rotating keeps them straight out when operating. That's how our 8ft and 15ft work.

The blades are supposed to have a little wiggle to them. Trust me I’ve tightened many a blade up tight as they should be and they still have play. It’s to allow them to move if you go over a stump to not shear the gear shaft

The drain is under it, sometimes gotta remove the stump jumper to access the drain
