i just got back from Rome. we went at 5am had people but no line, no pushing, we got to take our pics and even sit and watch. Id say 4am would be way less people

I was there recently and honestly it is not that bad. We queued for 15 minutes and you can get lots of lovely pictures in line. Very tiny “queue” around 9:45pm too.
