I think “supply can’t keep up with demand” is such an easy statement but is flawed. There’s plenty of supply for people that need a home. Supply is limited by investors buying a 3rd or 17th property, who can leverage their capital and unfairly benefit from tax policy, pricing-out those first home buyers trying to get off the rent treadmill.

Except supply is being controlled to create a false market disparity. Kind of like the diamond market. Taxing vacant homes would help. Or capping negative gearing.
