@letsjuststartpodcast: The honest effect of REMOTE WORK on junior staff - Part 2. The Disappearing Middle: We're raising lone contributors, not future leaders. - You can't grow into a leader when you never see one in action. - Remote juniors aren't absorbing the unwritten rules - how to speak up, take initiative, or influence others. - And in five years, we'll ask where the next leaders went. #ZoomGeneration #WFHChallenges #LeaderBilt #ChristianCunningham #WorkCulture2025 #ljsclips #letsjuststart #letsjuststartclips #podcast #podcast #letsjuststartpodcast #lauraracky #strongwomen # @Laura Racky @Christian Cunningham
I love an in person chat in a professional setting, but I often experience a challenge of walking away and finding later that we had different understandings or different recollections of the discussion. Love to at least follow up in writing to confirm/clarify- but sometimes an email exchange can cover it and take less time to process than a phonecall for both parties.

Some juniors are wary/afraid of phone calls as it’s sometimes abused by senior staff as a way to get away with bullying and use gaslighting tactics in projects. I have had managers who would be awful and give some instructions on calls, then be perfectly lovely and give new instructions on teams and email. Some juniors may be doing this because they are keen to keep a paper trail especially if you have had a history of this behaviour.
