Week 1: Standing Forward Fold 💜 When finding your edge in this pose or any other, you should feel a stretch in the body without any pain. Once you’ve found your expression of the pose, focus on your breath. Expand your body with each inhale, and on the exhale, relax to release any unnecessary effort being held in the body. This pose offers a deep hamstring stretch. It can be practiced sitting or standing. For this month, however, we’re emphasizing the standing version. If you’re a beginner, consider holding this pose for 15-30 seconds and repeating it three times. Note: In this forward fold, we’re not locking our legs. Embrace bending the knees either slightly or as much as your body requires. When exiting the pose, it can be beneficial to bend your knees a little more before pressing into your heels and rising up with an inhale. As you rise up, keep the eyes closed as you focus on the energy within the body - you can feel this energy, your energy!
