I played a noble barbarian once! He turned to mercenary work to support his orphaned niece (his parents disapproved of his brothers marriage to a poor woman, and abandoned their grandaughter when their son/dil died). His folks were from a super wealthy family of merchants, and he'd been cut off himself when he decided to pursue a career in his country's military over taking the reins of his father's business. He lived as frugally as possible on his adventures. He had money for his neice, but not enough to provide her the education she wanted (she dreamed of becoming a professor when she grew up), So he saved every bit of money he could find for her university fund. He was a really interesting character to play, given that his background meant he could blend in with upper-class targets pretty easily.

The Noble Barbarian - two faced but in a good way. able to rage to defeat obvious enemies yet when put in courts for disrespect to a noble he cunningly talks himself out of it with the true intellect of a noble. He has the muscles to eliminate and the intellect to sabotage. a REAL wild card

I played a noble born human barbarian who left her nobility behind when she found out about a half orc half brother and she set out to live life with her brother and friends and wound up dying to a dragon, kicking and screaming til her family got away. She has a statue in Helms Hall in our campaign and it has her axe and her magical prosthetic hand. I miss my Rose. 🌹

Our party had a noble barbarian but not just any noble, but a Waterdavian noble. She was very fun to play with (sadly her player did leave the campaign, also leading to the retirement of my significantly more useless noble warlock, but ah well. It was fun! That woman walked around in the finest funerary attire you've ever seen. And also the greatsword, she did have a magic greatsword on full display at all times)
