Instead of letting the dealership run your credit 1000x get a pre approved car loan from navy fed. Take the check to the dealership. You’ll pay the bank back instead with little to no interest.

Sick call medic here. Go to sick call! Get it documented and put on your record. That is how you get disability especially if it’s a joint or muscle. Your knees and back are the big ones. Also get a shrink when you’re about to get out to get a PTSD diagnosis, it helps get a higher percentage. Also please for the love of god wear your ear pro, the VA doesn’t give disability for hearing loss anymore.

Don’t let anyone convince you to not go to sick call. Got a fever? Sick call. Ear aches? Sick call. Have everything documented even if it feels minor. Got o behavioral health, even if you don’t feel you need to. Therapy is always great. When you get out, all that documentation will help SOO much when you file for VA disability. I was able to get a 100% permanent and total rating in 8 months after filing because of everything recorded from my time serving. I know people who have been fighting for 100% for over 10 years because they don’t have any documentation. I get a paycheck for the rest of my life, have a permanent car tag so I never have to renew, free healthcare and dental for the rest of my life, all my student loans can be dismissed when I’m done with school, AND once I’m done using my GI bill I qualify for a program called VOC REHAB which will pay for the rest of my school after I’ve exhausted 36 months of my GI bill.

Any time you PCS, any credit cards and auto loans (and some other types) have to be put to 4% APR for a year per the Soldiers and Sailors act of 1978...Cap 1 did this on a CC for me in 2010...they forgot to ever put it back. Now I have a CC with a $20,000 limit that's only 4% interest...

My biggest hack believe it or not was tuition assistance with FAFSA. Since TA covers tuition you pocket all of fafsa. I would get 4K for 2 classes which lasted like a month and half. It’s like 12k extra a year and I also get to earn a degree. It was stressful sometimes since I’d go to the field a lot as a combat engineer but professors on base were pretty leniant.

Made my husband use scra (he dont be believing me), we got our car payment dropped and 7 months back pay, instead of using military child care aware i use the state subsidy for the CDC and pay 30 per kid a month for daycare. 🙃 also in our state if you get ebt , for most CC here you get your schooling free even if its a dollar. Also BNA(basic needs allowance), im on workers comp (work injury) and i got fired on WC.. i attend college for free, my WC doesnt count . My husband will get that bna soon.

make sure you go to sick call if you need to and keep every document from it. file for disability and then apply for the VR&E, very similar to the GI bill without even touching it just in case you want to transfer it to your spouse or children

I got free astigmatism surgery and contacts while I was in . Go to medical and ask to see an Ophthalmologists do NOT let them send you to Optometrist (think LensCrafters) . Tell the Ophthalmologist that the lazy eye impeeds your ability to command your troops.
