DONJACK 🇨🇦 :
one that I’ve come to understand more deeply over time. I told her how people often feel so good, so relieved, and so at peace when they go out on the land, into the bush, and into the arms of nature. And there’s a reason for that.
When I look outside, when I watch the sky, the trees, the ground, the birds in flight—*all I see is light*. I see life. I see movement, energy, and an abundance that speaks to the spirit. Out there, everything is alive. Everything has purpose. Everything is connected.
But when I sit inside my house and look around, I don’t see that same light. I don’t feel that same life. All I see is walls, shadows, and stillness. Inside these walls, there is no spirit of the land. There is no wind, no birdsong, no smell of the earth. There is no light—just the illusion of it.
Out on the land, there is plenty of life and light. It surrounds you. It embraces you. It heals you. That’s why we feel better when we are out there—because we are returning to where we belong, to the natural world that has always taken care of us.
This is a teaching I share with all of you: if you are feeling overwhelmed, lost, or burdened—step outside. Go be with the land. Let the life and light remind you who you are and where your spirit can find peace again.
