The way speed cameras are set up often feels like a trap for drivers. For example, at one intersection, the traffic light turns green, and the speed limit on that same road is 25 mph. However, if a driver sticks to 25 mph, they won’t be able to make it through the next traffic light in time. To do so, they have to speed up to around 35 mph — and right in the middle of those two intersections, there’s a speed camera. Clearly, this setup seems more focused on generating revenue for the city than on ensuring public safety.

If people started following the speed limit that would lower the the rate of people getting tickets and cops pulling people over and tow trucks from picking up crashed vehicles. Imagine how much money sf would lose in a year. Probs not a lot but probs enough to get rip of the cams
