I really like self help books and they are written in casual form and are pretty common topics so it’s easy to work out. さみしい夜にはペンを持て is meant for like middle schoolers and has a sequel. I like buying more than reading so I haven’t really dived in yet

i’m really hoping my college is going to offer 100-level japanese this fall, i’ve read novels translated from japanese but i’d like to eventually read them in the original language. i’m not sure if it’s just the authors who are popular here or the way they’re translated, but i like the sort of “slow” atmosphere of the japanese novels i’ve read
