they were just talking about this on bbc radio 2 the other morning. apparently the name wasn't originally that long until they built a new bridge and English tourists started showing up. the English said the name was hard to pronounce, so they made the name longer just to mess with them

My dad was Welsh and I was desperate for some connection to that but he couldn’t give it for his own reasons. 7yo me turned that into obsessing over learning to say this because my teacher gave me a tape of it. There was a song. I spent HOURS playing it and practicing. Now it’s almost perfect.

The LL is not that difficult, and I'm horrible for pronunciation, but putting your tongue in the palate and "blowing" via the sides of the mouth, is not that hard 😅
