I was diagnosed with ADHD, and I only was violent in the mornings when I took the medication that was given to me. they tried to get me an adult dosage (the child dosage was not working apparently) after but my mom wasn't having it. I am much better without medication and sticked to music and other hands on projects to cope

As someone who was diagnosed with ODD in 5th grade, as soon as she found out her kid had it she should have been searching for discipline methods that worked, like for me hitting me didn’t work, I’d go right back and do it again just to upset my mom again, but she found out taking away all my things worked. The diagnosis isn’t an excuse it’s an explanation and a guide to finding a proper solution for your kid specifically, it’s just most parents don’t wanna do that work after the diagnosis so they use it as an excuse 😭
