If I don't have a tinted windshield I would get a severe sunburn and would have to replace my air con because it'll work too hard to try to keep up. My dash would be ruined in a year too. But I don't live in Canada anymore

Not true at all if it’s a dealership they have to make sure it’s street legal I know this because I won in court with my Mustang saying it wasn’t street legal but since I got it from ford I won my case and now I just keep the file in my car and give it to the police that try’s to say it’s illegal 👍🏻

Tinted windshield wouldn't pass safety when there is a transfer of ownership. Therefore the shop that did the safety is responsible not the driver. I'm a Tech. That's the way it works when a shop does a fraudulant inspection. Driver get the ticket, but then should sue the shop. seen it many times in the last 35yrs.

So if I just bought the vehicle, I have to put it through a certification which is approved by the government of Ontario. If the windshield gets passed, than it meets expectations of the HTA. Ticket is now going to trial. 😎

Cops never ever stop cars that have tinted windows. Tinted windows shouldn't be allowed but nobody does anything.

So can I ask. A small tint on the top to cover the sun from hitting ur eyes is that not allowed? Not the whole windshield but a strip of the top. Just want to clarify as different cops are giving different answers. Thanks!

That police officer might want to check federal laws and not provincial laws. If the windows are tinted by the vehicle manufacturer then they are legal according to federal laws. Provincial laws have no bearing in the matter. The ticket can be fought in court.

He stopped me today for speeding, lane change and phone in lap, but I was not even worried about the 700+ in tickets. He is so nice and that’s what made my day. Nice officer.🙏

Does that go with all provinces or is that just Ontario? I feel like that’s a legitimate question cause I see drivers in British Columbia passing VPD’s and RCMP with full tinted windows and license plates and they don’t get pulled over. What’s the deal with that?

I was sold a car that had a slight tint that i did my road test in.got a ticket for tint told the judge I bought it like that and beat it in court

I have seen some plates that the plate is all black and they have the letters and #s are in blue marker..but yet they don't get stopped
