I saw someone almost run directly into this point while they were joking about wealth being connected to a Mario Kart system. “Honestly we should make the economy work like Mario Kart, that way the people in the front get worse power ups while the back gets better ones”. They were literally inadvertently vying for higher taxation on the rich…because once it’s not being vilified by your government/education system it literally makes perfect sense.

The celestial dragons symbolize more of social control than economic control. Like it really doesn’t critique capitalism as it does authoritarianism. Luffy fights for freedom more than he does for equality
