Honestly his biggest problem is succumbing to the pressure of (as of recently) being very well known and therefore feeling the need to produce music appealing to the masses. "In the stars" is a beautiful song and he's legitimately got great vocals. If he'd just let go of creating/singing whatever enhances his popularity amongst the general public..
