At the risk of blasphemy, I don’t think Gods plan is to allow an entire family to die just so one person can worship him, instead that would have to be demons that killed the family. Like it wasn’t Gods plan to create humans to live forever in the garden then turn around and make one person doom the entire species to death. Or flood the earth destroying all humanity because he saw them as evil, I don’t think that was the plan.

This is why the story of Job was always weird to me. Like his MASSIVE family all died horribly but it's ok! You'll get a new one! Like family aren't easily replaced and just because you have more kids with new wives doesn't mean you're over the massive loss of your original family
