What if you are in a region with a massive Cuban tree frog population? I have a bunch of dragonflies that hang out in my garden but I have been wanting to build one of these for them but am worried about the Cuban tree frog population. My dragonflies love laying on my big rocks.

I would like to open the top of a rain barrel in my urban DC environmental. Plop in an aquatic plant. What if the dragonflies never come and now I’m breeding mosquitoes? I want to put goldfish in the barrel but my husband thinks this is not humane.

@Holly TC:currently our old gross pool is doing a great job at this but, I've been thinking about getting a koi pond and making a rain garden situation where my gutter downspout is. would that work? it would get fed with a lot of rain water periodically but otherwise would be standing water.
