I may want to play a male character. why is the baseline character someone I may not want to be? how does this help get my attention or buy in? the point is immersion, but that's subjective. immersion to one may be gameplay, another environment, and another character creation. removing an immersion choice is not a good idea.

Does anyone remember how much the sad little gamer boys loved Tomb Raider? Granted they liked her for the wrong reasons. But why is that any different to playing a female protagonist now? Guess they'd rather start at a man's backside.

I really don’t think and I mean this is as a guy that grew up on tomb, raider and resident evil with strong female lead leads. I don’t think that’s necessarily the problem. The problem is a lot of this almost feels forced because I have no problem playing a strong lead female as long as it’s written good and there’s no politics inside of it. I mean cause at the end of the day we’re playing video games to try to get away and escape from the real world and all the drama that goes on in that. Respectfully, of course.
