I find a really helpful way to use nihilism is that nothing matters so I might as well give something a go and it doesn't matter if I fail

For me, I don’t have any desires. It’s less about not wanting to try and more, “ There’s nothing I want to try” like zero desires whatsoever.

But what life is worth living? Clock in, clock out, eat, sleep, restart. Sure travel here and there but overall why? Too broke to live, no time to enjoy. What work harder for more money to numb the brain a few more days of the year. Okay then what?

I found a lot of meaning in nature. Witnessing a small moment that no one else gets to see or watching a creature excel at something I can’t do. Witnessing life is an awesome trait humans have that most living things don’t.

My lived experience has been that no one has wanted to talk about this with me whenever I've brought it up. I continue to get punished for being unmasked. I was even told in 2014 that no one wants to hear your daily existential crisis and I think about that every day. It's proven true. Most people are content with distractions and superficially. I don't know where to find deep thinkers in person.

Do you believe in any “after life” whether it’s a conscious/soul? Or do you believe it just goes black after and ends?

Look at it this way: There are much worse things than rejection and failure out there

I opened up to my best mate of 11 years about how I truely feel about the world. She took a step back from our friendship. Not that I didn’t already know but you really are alone in this world

I feel like I’ve been on this precipice since leaving the LDS church 5yrs ago; that space between rock bottom and the courage to create my life. Still hadn’t reached critical mass yet. Any tips on cultivating that courage for those of us in this transitory space?

Nihilism still makes me panic when it sets in, sadly. But sometimes it’s a very productive creative panic.

I feel like I have recently hit that realization of the experiential quality of life. after being at rock bottom or as close to as I would like to get to it

A question that I have after watching a bunch of your videos is why should I live for some values or a story? Just because I happened to plop into this life doesn’t mean that I have to give it meaning. And because life is meaningless in itself, and because I don’t want to give it meaning either, it means that there really isn’t anything worth staying alive for. Would you disagree with this logic?

I finally got to the die or try mindset a couple years ago after years of depression and anxiety, i stepped out into the world ready to live my way and then had two years of severe medical trauma and now all I can think about is how little control i have and efforts to live this idealistic experience I dreamed of can be toppled in an instant at any moment and also those tough years changed my outlook on other people in a way that left me struggling to reintegrate. At this point there’s no way of looking at the game that makes me feel anything other than dread.

Nietzsche calls it active nihilism to create values despite the void. In Tibetan Buddhism they have luminous emptiness.

Please can you talk about your views on veganism 👏🏼, my view on it is that as my life has no inherent meaning I don’t want to exist causing more harm and suffering than necessary. I know my existence causes harm but I try to reduce the harm I cause

It’s interesting to frame it like, “Oh. I *get* to do whatever I want.” Like nothing matters, so I get to make the meaning.
