I had undiagnosed Chiari Malformation (my brain is literally hangung outvof my spinal cavity). My BP crashed when they put in the epidural. Then when that one had to be refilled the refill didn't take for some reason and they almost performed an UNMEDICATED C-section because they refused to believe me. I had to scream and raise hell, and mentioned I had 2 lawyers waiting for me, 1 in my room and 1 on Zoom and if they tried to cut me I would own the hospital. Finally they tested and sure enough FULL SENSATION

Two in less than 10 hours? They had to pull it out and redo it because I couldn’t feel my left side but felt everything on my right 😅

My sister’s epidural fell out with her first kid. My mom only got an epidural with the first of the four of us because it didn’t even work so she figured “why bother”

uhg as soon as you said epidural and issue with standing i knew! 😭 i got a spinal tap and they said no standing longer than 10 mins every few hours for 24 hrs because of this! they said mostly new mothers have that issue 😬 probably because you just had a baby and arnt able to lay down all day

Labor and delivery nurses should know this and assess for it before discharge. Glad you are feeling better.

When I got a spinal tap bc of my septic kidneys they just made me lay flat for the next 3 days and suffer through the spinal headache…mind you I was admitted the whole time 😂💀

i didn’t have to get them back to back, but i was on my epidural from my first birth for threeee days. i was afraid my legs forgot how to work 😭

I had a csf leak from an epidural too. I'll never get another one. I've had 5 unmedicated births and about to have my last. My doctor knows to put me under if I have a c section bc I'm NOT getting that epidural, period.

they had to do my epidural 3 times with my last c section. Just one right after the other because they weren't hitting the right spot.

I had a terrible headache while I was still in the hosp. told nurses, doctor anybody who would listen. They said I was dehydrated so I drank as much water as I could handle. they said do you usually drink caffeine? so I hade a couple of cokes. nothing was working. Dr said it will be fine you just need to get some good sleep in your own bed... 24 hours after discharge, my husband came home to me passed out on the floor with a new born & 2 year old screaming. I went to the hosp and had to get 4 units of blood. thats half the average blood volume. I felt guilty about needing blood during a blood shortage and my Dr friend said if you had lost much more, you would have died. Dont let drs gaslight you! if you dont feel good, demand they figure it out!

3 in 4hrs. first failed and they kept trying... ended up with numbness only on the top of my thigh, birthed totally naturally totally feeling it all 🫠

When I was 10, I had a spinal tap and my mother made me leave the hospital before they were sure the hole closed. I had that same headache for 7 entire days. They said “if she still has a headache in a week, we’ll do the blood patch”. Again, I was 10
