the tube you welded to the expansion chamber to be able to mount it probably altered"for the worse" the engines "power band". those expansion chambers are tuned "shaped" to give the engine unique torque and rpm curve to its intended application. the stock pipe is designed to get the most out of the engine when used in a snow mobile. you should talk to a pipe builder like AAEN and have them build you a pipe to get the most torque in the upper rpm band. also a properly tuned pipe can get you huge increases in HP and max RPM. my Polaris 400 2stroke went from 38hp stock to 75hp with a pipe, engine porting and larger carb. Just some food for thought.

How much land do I need to take off and land the aircraft safely??? that's the only thing that has really kept me from buying one, because I don't want to use an airport.... how long and how wide of a runway do I need????

I used to race Kawasaki Jetskis ... primarily 550cc and 440cc ... is that the same engine? We were always told the 440cc began as a bilge pump motor for large Japanese freighters ... we used Mukuni diaphragm carburetors as they maintained fuel flow even upside down!
