the reason why it’s called Muir, is because back in the early 1900’s there was a man who used to be a researcher of some sort. but he loved nature with all his heart, and passion. he set to explore the world by first walking to mexico, not by transportation. walking. he walked purely just because he wanted to see the nature that was before him. skip forward into his journey he ended up in yosemite, which is where he found a job. he resounded there for years, even taking president theodore roosevelt on a camping trip. he cared so much for the land, one day he was scouting and adventuring, when he saw sheep, damaging the grass which he then told higher ups to love the sheep elsewhere. the man’s name was John Muir. and he loved nature. but that’s why i think it’s called muir i could be completely wrong i just read it in english class
