That’s cause you went to a good private hospital (which is totally fine) but if you went to a public one, it all would’ve been free. Brasil has free public health for Brazilians and gringos. In Portuguese we say viva o sus and I think that’s beautiful ✨

This is a private hospital in Brazil, but most things at SUS public hospitals in Brazil are completely free FOR EVERYONE, even non-Brazilians and people without health insurance. I miss SUS...

I was hospitalized in Brazil for a few days once and the total for United States would have been around $15000 but in Brazil it was $1,000 before it was covered by insurance. Doctors were amazing and listened to me too

You spent a lot at a private hospital here in Brazil. The cost could have been much lower—or believe me, it could have been zero. If you had gone to a public hospital, she would have received the same treatment, and yes, she would have recovered just as well. We have SUS, our public healthcare system, with excellent doctors—and the same exams would have been free. I'm really glad she's doing well!!!🥰
