For maternity leave, I had to scrape together all of my vacation days, the Christmas holiday and sick days and I was actually home for 11 weeks. Go USA. 🙄

I once tried to look up my holiday time and accidentally got our American HR page. It said I can get 5 days after 3 years. I was like what no!?! How!?!. Then I realized I was on the US site. We get 50 days a year 😅

as someone who works and lives in Europe, I love working during the summer months, the workload is lower, no one in the office.. I cover for my colleagues 😂😂

in Poland we are mandated to take min 2 weeks (10 working days +weekends) at least once a year in total we get 26 days + all Bank Holidays

I wish it were june to September. It's 'only' 30 days/year (plus like 9 bank holidays). Would not be able to Funktion on 2 weeks PTO.

To be fair, most of us gets 25-30 days of vacation per year, plus an extra 6 and flex.

Italian here 🇮🇹 We usually get 4-5 weeks off, but the only time we usually take two weeks in a row is in August, when everything shuts down 😂 The rest is spread out during the year!

We have a minimum in the Netherlands by law for 4 weeks paid per year, but depending on additional rules (called 'CAO') it is more weeks. Most have 6-8 paid weeks vacation per year

In Norway, we usually have 3 to 4 weeks of summer vacation that we can take between mid-June and mid-August, depending on the workplace. But students have the whole period off… 😭

Wait, does Americans actually think we get this much time off? In my field (zoning, civil engeneering etc.) private consulting companies usually close down in july but the public sector stays active all summer. And there's so much to be done in june and august 💀
