Husband should have set reasonable boundaries as soon as it affected his relationship with his wife. Not being able to maintain reasonable boundaries makes it seem like he is emotionally cheating, especially if he is talking to her about things he is not talking to his wife about. Definitely think the matter of feelings for the girl best friend is going to play a bigger part further into the story.
