Yall talk about how it’s the best platonic friendship but it coulda been top tier relationship in shonen. For those people who think ichigo and rukia relationship is platonic, just because Ichigo and Rukia’s bond isn’t overtly romantic doesn’t mean it’s not romantic in nature. It just made more sense, they had such good moments and always waited for each other, ichigo and rukia shared deep bond built over shared trauma, personal growth, and life or death situations. Their looks at each other their wordless communication. How ichigo felt more real feelings toward Rukia, how they share this deep trust this chemistry nothing can break. Orihime idolizes ichigo more than she understands, her feelings are pure but like an admiration from a distance. Ichigo rarely opens up to her and u can see that orihime gives a lot emotionally but ichigo doesn’t meet her half way. It’s so one sided.

I don't even mind them not ending up with each other tbh. I mind that he ended up with Orihime who is such a bland and boring one-sided character, who he also has 0 chemistry with. Not to Mention there is not a single scene implying that ichigo has any romantic feelings for her for the first like 300 chapters. The same 300 chapters in which he traveled into another dimension and declared war on Soul Society to save Rukia after knowing her for 40 chapters at that point
